TILANE JONES NAMED PRESIDENT OF AVA DuVERNAY'S ARRAY
LOS ANGELES, CA (Aug. 19, 2019) - ARRAY Founder Ava DuVernay today announced the appointment of Tilane Jones as the President of ARRAY, a film collective dedicated to the amplification of films by people of color and woman of all kinds launched in 2010. Jones, who has been with the company since its inception, brings more than a decade of experience in the film and non-profit spaces to the newly created position.
Jones will now lead Array Alliance, the non-profit dedicated to social impact and education, as well as The Array Creative Campus, a three-building compound for production and public programming focused on marginalized filmmakers. She will continue to oversee Array Releasing, the company’s film distribution arm, where she has been responsible for the acquisition, booking and marketing of the collective's 25+ films.

Prior to leading the collective's 20-person team, Jones joined Ava DuVernay as an office manager in 2007. She has held various positions across DuVernay's various companies, most recently heading ARRAY Releasing. Before ARRAY, Jones was an executive in the real estate financing industry.
Founded in 2010 by Ava DuVernay, ARRAY is a film collective dedicated to the amplification of images by people of color and women directors. Now in its ninth year, ARRAY Releasing focuses on grass-roots distribution of feature narrative and documentary work by varied voices. Non-profit ARRAY Alliance expands on the organization’s deep roots in independent film with disruptive social impact and education initiatives. ARRAY Creative Campus serves as an epicenter for production and programming dedicated to marginalized voices. ARRAY Filmworks is the production company responsible for WHEN THEY SEE US, QUEEN SUGAR, THE RED LINE and the Oscar nominated, Emmy winning documentary 13TH.
